Two planes landed in England today...
One brought back a group of overpaid, under achieving footballers.
The other brought back 7 coffins, each with a Union Jack drapped over them.
Footballers play for your country,
Soldiers FIGHT for OUR country.
Footballers give 90 minutes,
Soldiers give their lives.

Perhaps soldiers should concentrate on football as a career then?

Who gives a fk?!! Theres guys risking their lives for YOUR country, when your sitting on your arse in an office with your family safe at home.

Some people on here really do act like little boys with their heads so far up their own arse's.

Err...that's not what I said.

To clarify:

Do I consider membership of the armed forces a noble (for want of a better, less patronising word) profession? Yes.
Am I appreciative of the danger they put themselves in and what it means? Absolutely.
Do I think footballers are overpaid primadonnas? Yes
Do I think incapacity benefit scroungers are scum? Yes

Do I think either of the last two have anything whatsoever to do with the first two? Not a chance.

I think alot of people, me included, have family and friends in the armed forces.

Comparing armed forces personell with the England football team is not fair on them at all. Also, most people on here won't care about last weeks 'REPOST DIS STATUS IF U AGREE' Facebook fad.

No they are not. They are risking their lives because Bush was a wker, Blair had his tongue up Bush's arse, and neither the Tordems nor Obama have got the balls to say "right, that lot are out now, we're in, and we're not going to carry on with the previous administration's stupid ideas".

"Risking their lives for YOUR country" certainly applied to most previous wars but it's got fk all to do with the current pointless crap in the Middle East.

No, no.
They are risking their lives for 'our' country.
It's only 'your' country with regards football.

Other than that, I'm with you all the way.

Soldiers do an amazing job, in places they would rather not be, and- if the general press is to be believed, often under equipped when they do so.
However.....they chose to join the army, they don't get to chose where they fight, or indeed, for which cause.
For the record, I have no interest whatsoever in football.

So the point of the original post is that we would be better televising more battles, rather than football matches, as they would be more interesting?
