Was at a birthday last night and one of my mates in a drunken slur of words let slip he had finally got himself a Lambo at last, a nice black Murcielago in a deal...

He has had it 10 days and loves driving it, however his girlfriend has not been told that the deposit for the house in London has been spent on it and she is wondering why he has had to visit the Poole office to work a bit more than usual, as he has it parked at a house he owns down there.

The deposit he can get back and he has masked any dodginess by buying her a puppy for her to occupy her time and keep her company whilst he has to work away more and more for the next 6 months to a year (thats how long he plans on keeping it)...

I give it 2 months before he has spilled the beans whilst drunk or he brings it to london and his OH or one of her mates spots him in it...

I give him credit though, he is a proper PHer, just need to get him on here now!!

What secret have you tried to keep but eventually caught up with you for good or bad?

Why should he have to hide it? I presume it's his money, that he has worked his arse off for? in which case he should be able to spend it as he wishes, it's not like buying it is rendering him homeless...I don't see why he should be scared about telling her, if she does go off on one then she really needs to step back abit, why is it up to him to pay the deposit? I'm sorry, I just hate girls like that, expect the world, control & a free puppy on the side.

rofl I think you might be being called as a witness for the defence, but you may need protection against attacks by the sisterhood!

Do you not understand the concept of The Mental??

Of course he has to hide it, it's an expensive car, bought for the money she wanted to put into a home.

Oh dear, I forsee many problems in that relationship...

I seem to remember a similar story about a PHer on here who owned a Marcos that his OH knew nothing about, he had to park it at work or something. Anyone remember?

The general rule of thumb seems to be "whats yours is hers and whats hers is hers."

This is just the sort of situation which would see a man sleeping on the sofa for the next half a year.

There is that viewpoint. There's also the view of discussing and making important decisions together if you're a couple. What you class as important is obviously subjective, but given he's hiding it, you get the feeling it's a fairly noteworthy thing..

My old work had an underground carpark below the office. There were lots of free spaces and about a dozen guys in their 30's and 40's had various cars under dustsheets that their other halves didn't know about.

A PHer tried to hide a Marcos from his missus by keeping it at work.

The thread is legendary.

A recession is only a redistribution of wealth...some people are clever enough to make sure it gets redistributed to them. Nothing bad about that.

He owns his own solicitors doing litigation I believe... prehaps when you grow up one day you might be able to do something similar and not just moan about other people being a success.

Ok, perhaps i should've wrote something slightly different as such. Fair play if hes earnt it and enjoying it, but its sounds like its hardly a worry for him then is it, and hardly worth keeping a secret. If he owns his own solicitors and has more than 1 house and i'm guessing more than one car, whats his problem? Is he scared of his missus or something?
