Ordered a netbook from Amazon on the 1st July - they were "in stock" and from Amazon themselves (not one of their resellers)

Fast forward a week and I rang them up to ask where it was

"Sorry we dont have it in stock"

"Erm, your site clearly said they were in stock when I ordered it from you"

At that point I checked their site and not only had the price gone from £265 to £311, it was now being sold through Amazon by Tribal.co.uk

I pointed this out and the Amazon woman said that they would get one at the original price I ordered it, but it may take a few more days.

My question is, if they come back and say they cant get it, have I got any comeback with them? ie can I insist they supply me one at the price I originally "paid"?

They havent charged my credit card for the netbook yet.

No, they do not have to supply you at the original price. It was advertised as an 'invitation to trade'. Morally they might feel obliged to though.

It's like the car advertised on screen for £5999 and the 5 falls off. You cannot insist they sell you the car for £999.

It's up to them if they want to sell to you or not.
