What are everyones views on this? I've just been reading this article, and find the details horrific. Obviously its highly unpleasant but the case where she was brought out on a stretcher is just horrible.

What do people think about them still using this method? Will they ever change?

Worse than a state that condems someone to die by that method are the individuals that lift their arms to throw the stones.

For a nation with such a rich history, amazing food and what is basically a paradise on earth they seem utterly utterly hamstrung by their slavish following of 'population control for the weak minded'

We should just go in, flatten the backward sthole and rape it of its natural resources. Then move on to the next country that insists on living in the middle ages.

ETA: that sounds a lot more serious than I wanted it to, it was meant in jest. sort of.

She won't face it now.

A bizarre ritual used as a warning to other women, bonkers.

Sickening. Brutal. Backwards.

This sort of thing has no place in any country that would like others to consider it 'civilised'.

And do we as a world want an 'un civilised country' at all?

And also why are they so hung up on adultery?

They're not backwards because of their nation, they're backwards because of their religion (and I don't mean Islam specifically, all religions are equally hateful/demented).

That's what needs addressing.

So why is it taking them so long to realise religion is a evil crock of st?

Seems most people in the UK do not give a st about it either way, why is it taking these places so long to catch on? Is it because they're not allowed to think that way?

Sadly so I suspect.

Even if science provides a definitive answer, the nutjobs will argue that it was subterfuge on God's part.

One thing's for sure. Any woman in Iran who commits adultery must really love the cock.

You could say it is about women tempting men as Eve did to Adam or you could say it was bks and it is about controlling a possession.

One answer ... RELIGION ... The cause of all of this .

Out of date Religious Beliefs, enforced by fanatics.

While I'm in no way in favour of such an act, the one thing I would say is this; we, as a country, are trying to impart our views of what is right and what is wrong onto a totally different culture.

Yes, I don't agree with that culture's practices, but does that mean I should force them to stop?

At first I was utterly shocked to hear that they do this to women when they become adults.
Then, of course, I laughed when I realised my mistake and it's actually for adultery.
I assume you lot made the same mistake as me as it suddenly makes a lot more sense in perspective.

This is wrong.

Lots of wrongs in the world. Do you want to stop none of them?
