Well after a long time thinking about it I've finally bitten the bullet!
I've just been accepted for a six month stint with Voluntary Work Overseas.
In the position of being single and about to buy a new apartment I thought that there was nothing stopping me doing something I wouldn't have the chance to do again!
Six months unpaid leave from work and I'll be jetting off to Central America or India and training social care workers over there!
Anyone else done any VSO work?
biggrin

That's fantastic news mate, good luck!!

I'm currently sat here, after treating yet another rude patient, tears in my eyes, thinking THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS!

Jesus Rach, you're a dentist, you have all the pointy torture tools, if their rude hurt the feckers.

I really know that feeling frown. Try and think of a nice patient who actually brightens up your day and makes your job worthwhile...if you can't think of one ?time to move on.

OP good luck, hope you find it worthwhile smile. Wish I'd done something similar years ago (but for animals!)

Indeed I know I have never been rude to anyone in the dentists, apart from the receptionist who told me I would have to wait 4 weeks for an emergency appointment as I cancelled my regular appointment. I spoke to the dentist and went in the next day.

Always be good to someone who can cause you pain.
