Recommend a graphic novel to me
Discussion
The entire Sandman series by Neil Gaiman.
They are comics though, rather than graphic novels. But the 75 issues are conveniently available in 10 collections for people that don't want to hunt in second hand comic shops for all the originals. The first one (Preludes and Nocturnes) takes a while to get going, although A hope in hell is very good and the final part, The sound of her wings is excellent. Thereafter the standard is extremely high, right through to the end. Men of good fortune (part of "The doll's house") is my favourite of the stories.

Preacher series - the only graphic novel to come close to Watchmen imo
Sin City series - also up there with the best
Tintin - still (seriously) good graphic novels
Ballad of Halo Jones - Brilliant work from 2000AD but hard to get hold of. Slaine and Nicolai Dante from same source are also good.

It's a Manga, which I am not really in to but BLAME! is pretty good. Its split over 10 I enjoyed it a lot, very well drawn.

I genuinely adore the fact you are getting book suggestions from people that clearly can't, or don't, read.
