The hamster has escaped from the porch today, and the porch door was open, the Cockapoo and the cat hasn't located it yet, to be honest i dont think that they will either, they are both too stupid.

Does anyone know of any tips to coax it out from wherever it may be?

I take it it has escaped from the porch and gone inside rather than out ??!!

Invite some gays round who will bend over trying to find it for you.

HTH.

Surely you have to find it first?

To coax it out just use food.........

I've been told, but never had to prove, that a bucket with food in is a handy trap.

Simply stand the bucket up, with tasty treats inside and with a pile of books providing steps leading to the top of the bucket. The rodent will smell food, climb the steps and fall in... trapped.

Think of the most obscure place you can, it will be in there, pull all the crap out of the cupboard under the stairs.

This. Stick it next to the wall (small rodents generally stay close to walls) and put peanut butter in the bait area.

We had one lost in our last flat - never found it.
We did try turning the sofa over, and the missus heard movement inside, so I cut it open and found....

female hamster (assuming the other hamster is male)

You said you had a cat, perhaps a cat that actually catches mice??

Decide its never coming back and throw the cage away, it will return immediately!

Get a proper pet??? biggrin

Stick your head out of the window and yell ARMAGEDDON!

Yes, I know that was a gerbil not a hamster. Sod off, it's an amusing, if disturbing, story
