Well, earlier tonight a 9-10 year old kid on a bike didn't look before shooting out into the road. Half a second earlier and he'd have been dead. Screeched to a stop, horn blaring, he didn't even look around. rolleyes

A hundred yards down the road, he was riding on the wrong side, gave me the finger as I went past yelling something to the effect of "fk you, I'll hunt you down" laugh Absolutely surreal.

Thing is, it's all quite funny until you realise that this is a kid who couldn't even have been past primary school. Now, is this just the typical Dagenham scum that's being bred nowadays, or are kids like this becoming more common? Certainly isn't the only one of his type around here rolleyes

If you see him again, hide in some bushes and poke a big stick through his spokes.

I have had this in the last few weeks actually, not running out infront of the car but 2 young girls no more than about 10 shouting abuse.

When I was 10 I didn't know what abuse was, nevermind giving it to random strangers.

The thing was though, I was a bit puzzled as to what to do, they had no parents with them, and unlike a 16 year old (male) kid giving you abuse, you can't exactly go and give them a thump. Plus, they are under the age of legal responsibility so no point getting the plod involved as they can't do much anyway...

I am always the first to point out that them oldens did very wrong things too when they were younger and that their old age is making them forget that but it's crazy how young the chavs are starting out these days.

I get the impression that (some) kids these days think they are untouchable. Probably a combination of teachers not having any powers to discipline them and parents who couldn't give a st, leaving a kid who thinks that no one can touch them, shout at them, nothing. Clearly the scrote in your case, also thinks that a moving steel object can't harm them either.

So we have a youth of 2nd generation scrotes, who are our future. Worrying.

On the other hand...

My Nan thinks the same about my generation (minus me obviously) but I am seeing the smart ones and the ones that have learnt to be good boys excel whilst I still see people that I knew from a kid standing on the same street corners with the same dress code as when I was at school with them.

Sad really, but I think the good and bad in the generations split and the bad will just be the next generations scroungers and luckily not in charge of anything apart from what shop they buy there next tinny from.

When I was about 14 I had been out on my BMX all day and it was starting to get dark

I was riding home in the road with no lights and accidentaly shot out the end of a side turning in front of a car, very much how you descride.

The difference was the bloke chased and caught me and actually punched me in the face about 6 times, ended up with a nose bleed and a black eye.

I got some lights and rode a bit more carefully after that.

2 little girls (7-10yrs I guess) walking along the road yesterday, admittedly in a very scummy part of town we use as a short cut, and one of them flicks the bird at my OH who was driving! Funniest part, we drove on but they still live there ;-)

Some fat 8-9 yr old kid with his mates in a sleepy Dorset village waited until the last possibly minute before sauntering across the road in front of me.

He had a smirk on his face and his mates were all tittering at an obviously premeditated stunt, so I was quite annoyed.

I wound the windown down and asked him if he thought his body fat would provide enough protection if he was hit by a car. Gratifyingly, he looked genuinely crestfallen.

Went to local shops and an 8yo boy says "Give us a fag mate" I say no and he replies with "Tosser". His group of about six mates, mostly girls all giggle.

When I come out he's sitting right in the way to I say "Excuse me young lady can I get past?"

hehe His mates cracked up as he went bright red and shuffled out he way.

"They grow up so fast..."

Or is it that they don't grow up at all? This little scumbag will, in all probability, soon be referring to the police as "the feds" and imagining that he is some sort of gangster. At some point in ten or so years time he will blossom into a fully-fledged chav, claiming benefits to spend on cheap tattoos and strong lager.

Have I not looked in the right places, or is this chav underclass not present in other countries?

Just looking at / listening to their parents should be enough.

So what your telling us is that you missed the chance to rid us of potentially so many chavs and sts in the future.

When he starts breeding in 3 years you will regret not doing that extra 2 mph.

Exactly!

I teach a bit in secondary schools, and have witnessed (but not had it done to me) a 16 year old kid fully square up to a shorter (female) teacher, shoulders spread back nose an inch from her face whilst she was trying to tell him off for bullying/intimidating another kid and growl: "You can't f***ing touch me, miss."

Thing is, he's right - she couldn't, and he knew it. To all intents and purposes the situation in that school corridor (the look of terror on the female teacher's face, his physical disposition and tone of voice) could have been a mugging in a back alley late at night.

Shocking stuff. And I'm going into full time secondary teaching next year...!

This is a word that doesn't get used nearly enough. Along with "splendid". I intend to redress this situation.
