Am I going through one...

I hate my job - I want to jack it in and do something where I don't have a boss breathing down my back all the time.
I want a faster motorbike.
I want to physically harm anyone who says 'moving forward'

Did you go through one, if so - what did you do/feel?

I've been on a rolling mid-life crisis for the past 10 years. It's very liberating biggrin One daft car after another. Moved onto bikes last year. Jacked in my job a couple of months ago.

I should grow up but that would be boring wink

Yep - I have one roughly every 2 years.

... as long as the money keeps rolling in they get better each year!

If mid-life crisis = daft cars then I've been having one since the age of 20!!!

As previously stated - you only live once and you're a long time dead...

I hated mine today, but tomorrow will be better. I am going to Goodwood on wednesday and Dirty Dicks on Thursday.

Does it pay for your food and a roof over your head? Can't be that bad

In a moment of self-awareness i believe i am now entering the initial stages of a mid life crisis.

Like you, I'm not entirely sure what lies ahead to be honest. I'm kicking it off by buying a Z4M next month

I went for a test drive in a DB9 when I was 50.

That was two years ago.

This mid-life crisis is absolutely... bloody... wonderful. I haven't had so much real FUN since I was 18.

If you want to have a mid-life crisis, then go for it. I highly recommend it.

Life CAN begin again at 50.

So moving forwards what do you think you will do?

I bought a TVR as a start. After decades of being dutiful father and husband I have started to do things I want to do on my own (not coke and hookers) and not think about everyone else quite so much, not neglecting them, just starting to prioritize myself as I have some spare cash/time now. It's working.

Buy an Elise. 99.9% of the thrills of motorbiking without the threat of being maimed / killed.

If you don't already,start running.

Number of miles on your own through trails/forest is extremely cathartic

and gives one a refreshed perspective.

Not sure if I'm at an age ready to have one (32) but in a couple of years time, I'm planning on selling my flat and everything I have to take a career break (which I'm entitled to under my current work contract).

Thought about taking off to Arizona / California or Miami. Buy a nice sportsbike and just chill and see where live takes me. Have quite a portable job (graphic/web designer/artist) so could probably find something on the side.

And here.

Loud colour is important too.

Quick blast, then you realise none of this crp matters.

ETA: MC, do you live near Godalming - I keep seeing an Elise driven by a woman, same colour as yours, but am never in mine when I spot it.

Didn't hang about till 30 to do the Elise thing - done it and bought the t-shirt when I was 25. You'll no doubt love it but motorbiking are a whole lot of fun on another level. An Elise does not mean it'll be any less dangerous.

Nothing on 4 wheels can come close to the thrills of bikes. Fast cars are fun, fast bikes (ridden well) are fun on a whole new level!
oh god not this again.

No...a car won't help - I'll just get stuck behind slow people and want to kill them.
I just need a change of direction career wise - but no idea what. Definitely no more big corporations with all the corporate political bks that goes with them...I need to be my own boss.
