I dont actually know why i am posting this,i honestly don't but i just find myself doing it without thinking.
Half an hour ago,i got a phonecall from my brother in law, quite unexpected,as we don't get on too well and never really talk. Only the reason he phoned was to let me know that my 5 year old niece has lost her battle with Leukemia. I cant believe how cruel life is,the poor little angel hasn't experienced a fking thing, shes been in and out of hospital for 60% of her life. I knew the time would come one day,i knew it would, but as daft as it sounds, when you try to prepare for something, you never can actually prepare can you? Now im not after sympathy, far from it,and as i said i don't even know why im typing this, but i have 2 let a little out, my mum and dad flew to Florida yesterday, theyre on the next flight back.
I say to people don't blame yourself for something you have no control over, but can't help feeling guilty, and thats stupid.
Anyway, one thing id like to say is a big thankyou to Alder Hey and the brilliant staff there, and how fun they made her stay there for her.
Really dont know what to say or do.

Awful news to hear no matter who you are.

God will care for her soul now.

I second the priase for Alder Hey - amazing place with some exceptionally caring and gifted staff.

Having lost my wife at a young age I truly am of the belief that him upstairs has a twisted sense of humour, and Wants all the Nicest people with him first.
Try to remember any good times, take the Porsche for a hoon, Get steaming drunk and have a good cry,
then have a big family party and remember whats important in life.

RIP, little one.

You are allowed to cry at times like this.

When you feel ready, I'd give your sister a call...

DAMN, RIP.

Life is very precious at times. It doesn't matter how long she was here, as long as she enjoyed her short stay.

I've lost my fair share of adult family/friends, but never a kid that means a lot to me.

That's very sad.

I have no idea how that must feel, but felt the need to just say that i'm sorry, It probably won't mean much but I wanted to type it anyway.

All the best - especially for the toughest few weeks you have ahead.

My condolences I'm so sorry for your/your whole families loss. My neice is also 5 and has illnesses too and it's heartbreaking and scares me constantly.

I'm glad the hospital made her time fun and special things like that mean a lot to a child and the family.

My thoughts are with you and your family at such a hard time.
