Look up to (shorter)/ admire jokes
Discussion
I'm best man for my older (and taller) brother, and am just trying to string a joke together about how I have always looked up to him (because he's taller than me), and how I've also come to admire (geddit, look up to) him.
OK it's not comedy at it's highest level, but I think it'll work in this context.
Can anybody come up with a sentence to make the joke obvious? When ever I write something down and re-read it, it's not clear that there's a joke at all. It just sounds like I admire him, and admire him.
Thanks

I was specifically looking for the play on words of looking up to, to be initially be taken as admire, but then say it's actually because I'm shorter. Then of course waffle on about why he's so great and I admire him.
Like the Steven merchant joke, but my brother isn't especially tall. So more than one joke on height would just be weird.

You've got the whole gag there.
Start your speech by just saying his name, then pause. Then say, "I've always looked up to him," and pause. Then say, "He's taller than I am."
It'll bring the house down.
Then say, "No, no! I mean it. I've always looked up to him."
They'll be eating out of your hand.

So only one joke about height, anymore would be weird as you say, so should we be looking forward to lots of threads from you asking for other jokes too thinly constructed ideas?
You sir. Are f
ked.
Actually what about; "I've always looked up to my brother but not as much as looking up his future wifes skirt. No knickers/meat and two veg/crabs"
Eh, eh!

"I've always looked up to you xxx (assuming your brother is the guy from the Vin Diesel film) well, at 5' 6" I would, wouldn't I? But you have been... then say nice things."Like the Steven merchant joke, but my brother isn't especially tall. So more than one joke on height would just be weird.
Then it's 90% a compliment to your bro, with a slight diversion to height, then back onto the sincerity.
"My brother's always been taller than me, but we are the same height laying down, as his fiancée discovered last night."
"I've always looked up to my brother, especially when he started wearing mum's high heels around the house."
"He's a head taller than me. Any ladies here who could give me some head?"
"I used to have to wear my brother's hand-me-downs. Looked stupid at school with 14 inch turn ups."
"My brother, being so tall, has to buy his clothes from High & Mighty. I have to get all my trousers from Mecca Ballrooms."
