Are animals naturally capable of being evil and sadistic or are they solely human traits?

Wasps....proof the bible is bks.

If there were only two wasps in the world Noah would have swatted one.

(Although a religious bloke I used to work with countered that with, "You don't know how bad the thing he did squash was" )

It's not rare for pet rabbits to fight and for the dominant one to tear open the others ball sack. HORRIBLE!

You have forgot to include inanimate objects in that list, just aks emsmanhehe

In all seriousness, yes, animals are capable of being evil and sadistic, as someone has already pointed out, you should see the damage a fox will do if it gets in a henhouse

How can they be evil when all it is is natures way of making them more efficient.

Humans on the other hand, well, we have no excuses...

Interpreting animal behaviour as sadistic or evil is just fluffy bunny anthropomorphism. Domesticated animals sometimes exhibit behaviour which seems inexplicable but we've put them into artificial situations and in many cases have selectively bred them to retain juvenile behaviour - such as not killing prey cleanly. Likewise, wild animals will sometimes behave oddly when they find themselves surrounded by prey - another artificial situation we have created and which the animal's instincts are not optimised for. Slaughtering an abundance of prey makes sense if you can come back for the rest later, for instance.
