I don't know if anyone spotted this last night.
It was clear skies here on the south coast, but I couldn't see a thing.
It is said to be a big one, so keep your eyes open.
I'd be interested to hear how far south it makes it.
Should be good again tonight, as I understand it.

idea

Hm we could raise funds for the country by introducing a sun tax. Obviously, anyone with a tan would be taxed 10% of their monthly salary during the summer months.

Hmmm....

The aurora should show up as green wispy tendrils hanging down from the highest part of the sky.
I've never seen one, but always wanted to.
You have to be in the right place at the right time.

Professor Mike Kosch from Lancaster University said it was "possible but unlikely" that the Northern Lights would be visible from England on Thursday night.

Saw them from the top of the Yorkshire Wolds in (I think) 1992.

Quite impressive.

There was a really strong one in the early nineties. Sadly I didn't know it was coming, but I do know people who saw it and wondered what it was. That was in the south too. You can only see them down here when they are really stonking.

I have a feeling that it was that one that took out the Canadian electrical distribution network.

There's a good article on it here, but it seems it was 1989!

Generally North.
The more northerly you are, the better your chances of seeing it.

yes Yeah, I saw it in Northants. Didn't realise what it was until the next morning. Think it was the first time it had showed that far south for around 30 years.
