Dogs and playing cards

Why are dogs afraid of playing cards .....


today the pup (18month old nutter) gordon setter and the 7 year old (pup) were being very happy greeting a friend of mine (over excited) and no amount of voice commands stopped there exuberance....


get a pack of playing cards out and show the dogs the cards ....instant response and both dogs are subdued and laid flat in there cage ....looking very calm.....



carnt explain it ,


just got the cards out again and the pup just hit the floor ...complete submission..?

My mum's GSD would bark himself hoarse until you waved an envelope near him. Then he'd cower under a kitchen stool.
