It looked remarkably deliberate to me, the driver sounded the horn so clearly saw the guy. Perhaps in the States (or at least, that's what I surmised on first viewing) hitting a jaywalking pedestrian is acceptable as long as you hoot first!

Sounds like my kind of logic does that.
