I was made aware of this product last week as it's just starting to creep into mountain rescue use. It really is fascinating stuff, made from Chitosan or ground up crustacean shells. Basically it acts as a super coagulant and works independently of the bloods own clotting abilities so stops people bleeding to death - which it does remarkably effectively when you read the papers on it. It's currently being used extensively by the military (UK and US) for obvious reasons to great success.

Anyway, I thought I'd mention it on here as it's inexpensive and a handy thing to carry about in your car, and you never know when you might just be able to save your own or someone else's life. Handy if you own a chainsaw hehe

You can buy it as a powder, gauze, or pads.

MODs Please leave in the lounge for a while as this section has to most readership.

P.S. I have nothing to do with the company or the sale of the stuff. I just think it's a very ingenious product.
