Pistonheads and Pies?

Can someone please explain the link?

I've just bought an 8" Pistonheads smiley for my roof box and saw the "I stop for pies" and the lone pie stickers. Whats with the pies? I obviously missed something a long time ago as I haven't come across any pie talk on any recent threads.

ps. Search isn't working (does it ever?) so I can't look myself!

Ted, who started PHs used to have a pie shop.

Phers used to meet at the pie shop each month for 'piefest' which became the now yearly BTaP. That's where all the pie references come from.
