Another question while you're here.

So discussing with the girlfriend about rings, and she likes antique rings, I personally would like to get a brand spanker. However it seems you kind of get a better deal going with an antique ring.
Is it just me or would anyone else feel funny about buying effectively a second hand item for their other half?
And regarding rings, if I do go down that route is there a typical % difference between two identical(ish) rings?

Thanks in advance. Again.

Some people can get a bit funny about stones that have been worn by other people before. They believe that the stones can store memories and emotions that can be released later. Also, they believe that certain stones and crystals have specific qualities for healing but some can be damaging if it doesn't fit with the wearers vibe, man.

Not sure myself but always open to other points of views as I have this slightly romantic and spiritual stance that there is lots more to life than just the cold molecules of what we're made of and what surrounds us etc...

Good point. If she's stupid enough to believe that st, dump her, she'll be buying a Pious next.

Wouldn't bother me - I have lots of 'pre-owned' jewellery, furs, watches etc. If she likes old stuff, she likes old stuff.

As said, there are some tremendous bargains to be had - especially in the US where wimmins want everything new.

Wouldn't bother me at all either. My (2nd) engagement ring (I bought it myself too... my ring was too big and wasn't remakable so bought myself a new one) was the result of a break up - but it's still pretty and it wasn't my relationship so it doesn't bother me.

My Mrs chose an antique Diamond engagement ring 20 something years ago and she is still delighted with it.

settings were more elaberate in those days apparently.
