Witnessed an accident today. Generic lout in a 'modified' Citroen not paying attention at a roundabout ran into the back of a mumwagon. Her towbar acquired a smudge of new paint whereas the front of his car fared........ not so well. He leapt from his car screaming abuse and jolting his limbs around like a Thunderbird puppet with elastic strings, apparently the damage was her fault for not pulling out when he thought she should.

To say he was intimidating was an understatement, in the short time it took me to cross the busy road he almost reduced her to tears. The distraction of my appearance gave him a new target, apparently my involvement was not appreciated. By him at least, she seemed a whole lot happier. Apparently it was "None of your fking business so why don't you just fk off?". Had I not witnessed the whole thing that alone would have had me creating a heavily embellished version of events comprising him driving with his mobile phone in one hand and a can of Stella in the other.

It took me a few minutes to get him to accept that I wasn't his 'Bruv' and once we'd got that clear (he still wore a furrowed brow) he began telling me how he'd only just "brought" it. "Where from?" I enquired eliciting a quizzical "Why'd you wanna know tha'?". "I don't really but you obviously thought it of importance to tell me you were bringing the car from somewhere so I thought I'd be polite". Strung that one out for a little longer while the lady was on her mobile arranging for her husband to attend the scene. Also jangled his chain for another five minutes or so trying to find out what vat had to do with things. Apparently it's the word 'that' as uttered by utter fkwits.

Anyway, hubby showed up and the window licker got a dose of his own medicine. The guy was about 6' 4" and 20 stone. I left them to it.

Good on you, OP, for standing up to him and bringing a bit of fairness to the situation. Hope the tosser gets what he deserves, but I doubt it unfortunately.

I presume you gave your details to the lady so you can officially act as a witness as/when the scrote changes his story and claims for whiplash and that his pet squirrel died due to the shock etc etc

Yes indeed. Only gave her my details. Told him to tell his insurers to get them from hers because I didn't trust him.

Dear OP. When and if something like that happens to my wife I hope someone just like you is around to help.

Good work.
