sending a (heavy) parcel abroad
Discussion
Been asked by someone in spain if I'd send them my micro lathe. boxed it'll weigh about 10kg. Parcel force are quoting me £180 to send it with only £200 compensation if it gets lost / damaged?! Need 5 times that compensation and about 1/4 the cost, any chance or am I living in la la land?
Try these guys

always had good service in the past.
If insurance is an issue with their services, I would try UPS, not the cheaperst but offer good insurance rates.

Weight isn't everything - especially on foreign stuff. Size as mentioned. Awkward shaped stuff and stuff that takes up a lot of space is expensive - referred to as 'voluming out'.
eg - A large light box could cost more than a smaller heavier item.
You should easily beat Parcelforce though - shop around.
