What's the general conscensus regarding not looking like a Wookie? Is waxing one's back & shoulders the most appropriate way, or is there a less painful way of removing hair? I've considered nicking my wife's Veet, but am a little worried that I'll end up looking like a burns victim, as that stuff is proper horrid. Is Veet a good alternative, or should I stick to getting it ripped out by a beauty therapist every couple of months?

There is a light treatment that will stop it growing. IPL is it's fancy name. Same results as laser treatment. Enjoy the rest of the thread.

What about nipples? Should we be waxing them or is using a bic on them OK?

Oh god its him, hmm, well i can see the practical side now, mankini would chafe on the hairy shoulders....

The mankini was just a very, very bad idea & shalln't be worn.

This is a much more serious topic, as no-one wants to look at or look like a silverback.

I'm not coming out. In fact, I have a slight suspicion that my wife is pregnant again

Sorry to hear that, have you found out who is responsible yet?

Veet works well but only lasts a few days. I get a wax before I go on holiday, only way to be wookie-free for 2 weeks.

usually get my wife to do it or pay someone. Also as it can cause a rash I do it about a week before so everything has calmed down before I'm on the beach.

I'd say wax, shaving will only leave you stubbly and prickly, that would be nasty

"A friend" is an ape with hair pretty much everywhere apart from on top of his head.

I was a bit pissed and let my step daughter wax my back - about 3 large packs of Veet,... erm I mean my friend did. Anyway, it's not at all painful, but I had skin like a pizza a few days later with horrid little zits.

These days, I just get the wife to number one it with the clippers every now and again to stop me tripping over it.
