Been looking into the very good work this church does for people with addictions or no hope in life they turn them around.

Personally i think there is far too much focus on you have to pay or are encouraged to contribute .. Well correct me I'm wrong but so does every other church. Look at the catholic church their vast wealth all comes from one thing donations at the weekly services and or other gifts ie inheritance in a will.

There seems to be a lot if issue with them holding back on info ie when you get to theaton level two or above. Well what's wrong with that? It's an education you start at the beginning and as you become more able you go for the next. Exams or job grades the same?

The roman catholic church has the jesewits which are a highly secrative organisation and you cannot get into that without progressing.

The disconnection ie cutting off all ties with your family if you leave the church reallyi don't understand that logic buy homosexuals are permitted to be priests and so are women likewise contraception is encouraged to reduce child out of wedlock.
Muslims cannot drink
Jews cannot eat pork
Christians cannot use contraception

The xenu aspect is just as wild a view as the reincarnation in buddists the sun gods of pagans walking on water coming back to life after three days dead then floating up carried by angles. Creationilsts staunchly believe in genesis 7days and 2,400bc as being the start of all life more accepting Christians accept a more sceintific answer but accept what the storys message is.

So all wacky to an athiest but it gives hope to plebs and enables the oligarchs and the upper classes to install order.

If it's true about the following people and making their lives hell then clearly that's not acceptable. But let me put it to you is the fact the catholic church hid all the child abuse for decades knowing what was going on isn't that a far worse crime? What about the inquisition - spainish?

So come on PH let's have a fair debate.
I'm a solid believer in the sad fact that when you die that is it you rot in the ground to me that makes me live every days as if it's the last. I'd love to be proved wrong.
Muslims oddly get rewarded for jihad with the offering of 7virgins as wives upon their death in battle - quite an encouragement to end life early IMHO
Christians life continues forever lovely thought but where is this place and why can child rapists murders wicked people on their death bed repent and then your in heaven over hell... Where is the incentive to be a good honest person. Christians also believe those with no faith will be damned - no matter if they are the most generous kindest loving people you know?? Where is the sense in that especially as a child rapist could be granted access to heaven upon repenting

I'm looking forward to fair debate here - can those who post also state if they wish what their religious beliefs are to give context to your responses. I do not want any nasty comments what so ever fair debate and fair challenge.

That panorama last night was rather good, i just think Scientology is run too much like a business, i mean you have different levels of members? come on.

Its a bit like a weird religious version of the masons, but more secretiveness, and weird.

I believe personally you rot in the ground, and there is no gods, its all a load of st.

Your right, but it is fun to have a childish one, i used to live with 4 other guys at uni and one was a Jehovah's witness, we used to wind him up at every possible moment.

fk Scientology.

Religion has no place in todays society. Far too much conflict as a result.

I believe that I was created by someone or something. That something was definitely NOT the 'Big Bang'.

As to who created me? Who cares. I know he/she/it created me for a purpose and is hopefully still watching over me.

The rest is all bks and fantasy.

Don't most religions claim that other religions are nothing more than cults but they all claim their own is the only true religion.

In my opinion it's all the same beat but different drum.

OP - I wish I could get pissed on a Wednesday!

A Catholic friend of mine reckons Scientology is a "made up" religion. Like, as opposed to what??

Jethro Tull (or Ian Anderson at least)had it about right when he wrote Back Door Angels wherein "it is written"

Why do the faithful have such a will
To believe in something
And call it the name they choose
Having chosen nothing.
