Lent family member cash and they wont return it

I transfered some cash to a family member. They wont return it. What can I do? Is it possible to take someone to court over £20k?

You say "lent" in the thread title... When you transferred it was it to cover your own ass in some sort of means-tested fraud? Cos that's what the cynic in me reads from your first post.

When I had 19.2k in my mortgage account. I took that out and gave it to a family member for safe keeping. Now they wont return it. I did not give it or lend it; it was for a brief moment in time.

Are you friendly with your local organised criminals? for 25% I'm sure they'd lean on your relative until he's intimidated into paying up.

If they're being tts I'd delete this thread, phone the police, say they used your computer when you weren't around, logged into your online banking and stole the £20k.

His relative obviously doesn't give a st about losing the OP do they, they've just robbed him of £20k!!!

It's theft, except, if he tells the police he gave them the money they'll just say it's not their problem and it's a civil matter.
