On behalf of a friend who has found an old coin, looking for a bit of info and or rough valuation. The coin is from 1806, the front face is of Georgus III with the same written on it. The back has Britannia written and the image of a person with a lance, british shield and what i'd guess to be an olive branch. Thanks in advance.

I'm a banknote man myself but the following may be of assistance.
Like notes, the condition is key to a coins valuation

Fine (F): Worn over whole area, but only the highest spots are worn completely through.
Very Fine (VF): Detail clear, but obvious evidence of very limited circulation. High spots worn but detail remains.
Extremely Fine (EF): Slight wear on high spots on close inspection, and all other detail clear and sharp.May appear uncirculated to the naked eye.
Uncirculated (Unc): No wear at all, although it is possible for the design not to be fully struck up in the minting process. There may be bag abrasions. Older coins may be tarnished or toned

You've also not stated the value of the coin, which is another key point (Less high value coins were in circulation meaning they are rarer)

I've found these details for 1806 coins which I think are £'s so as you can see I don't think there is anything to get excited about unless the find is a high value coin in good order.

Denomination Year F VF EF Unc
1/4d 1806 2 8 40 85
1/2d 1806 2 7 30 80
1d 1806 6 15 55 150
1/3g 1806 95 150 340
hg 1806 135 200 400

eta can't figure out a table but you get my drift

Sounds like it's a George 111 penny. Value is entirely dependant on condition.
