A newbie's idea

Hello all, as a relative newbie, I feel I should be able to have my say. Regardless of whether people agree or disagree.
To have some one tell you to be polite, bearing in mind some of the threads I have read on PH, is a little bit on the feck off side. Particularly when I WAS being polite for me, Ididnt use one swear word
I am a biker, so probably in the wrong place, will bait people about how my bike is faster than youre car and be generally outspoken. Its just me, the way I am.
As a new poster, is their a given right to ''old hands'' and a order of merit I need to be made aware of. PLG on a post told me, as in ''TOLD'' me I should be more polite.
I had an understanding of PH that we are all individuals with one common interest. Riding, Driving anything FAST.

It's fine to have your say on here, but there are definitely a few simple rules that, like it or not, you will have to stick to on PH.
Firstly, for better or worse, yes, you will be judged harshly if you're a newbie. Harsh, but just the way it is. If it's seen that you're a reasonably well educated, relevant and interesting poster, then you'll be well accepted into 'the fold'.
Secondly, here at PH, we value good spelling and punctuation. Again, may seem a little harsh, but that's the way we like it here. There are plenty of forums where you can talk b
ks using text speak, but on this site at least, we abhor that kind of lazy communication.
Thirdly - if you're looking to ignite the whole 'bikes v cars' speed thing, don't bother. It's been done to death, and suffice to say, most people who drive cars respect that bikes are a whole lot faster, and the bikers on here know that and don't bother baiting the car drivers.
But actually you'll probably find that there's a lot of folk on here that drive cars AND ride bikes too, so inflammatory comments from hardcore bikers have short shrift. And I speak from experience. I raced Britsh NAtional Superbikes for many years, but I don't find the need to boast about it and keep reinforcing the fact that my bikes are 'faster' than cars. We all know that already, and have heard it a thousand times already.
My advice? Just be yourself, and talk about cars and bikes in an interesting, useful manner without major league histrionics.
PH has an unusal, eclectic and thoroughly entertaining mix of very rich people with high end supercars, ordinary mainstream people with a limited budget who run the best cars they can for their means, some hardcore but knowledgable racers, some classic car enthusiasts, and most usefully of all, some serving traffic police officers who continue to post some really useful and relevant info, despite regular ribbing and sometimes un-called for insults.
I feel privilidged to be able to access such a wide range of intelligent, useful discussion from a wide variety of people.
Try to bear this in mind, and you won't go far wrong.
Be a cock and upset the masses, and expect short shrift!
