ste.

Going on Tuesday night.
License is away at the dvla.
Does anyone know if it's possible to drive there and get it sorted in a day in the same way as you can do with your passport?

Do you need it as soon as you get to the other country?
Is it not possible for you to get it sent to the other country?

I doubt you could get it sorted in a day as you don't know where it actually is, big place is the DVLA.

I seriously doubt it. Good luck!

Phone them perhaps- even if it takes a while to get through.

Why did you send it to them in the first place? The only time I sent them mine was about 25 years ago for a change of address.
Did you keep a photocopy of it?

When did you send it off?

Recently the DVLA have been very efficient. I did a change of address a few weeks ago and it was returned in under a week.

I recently applied for the return of my uk licence - having been abroad - I did the paperwork at the local dvla office, but they still had to send the new one to me - took 10-14 days

You will need your licence if you need to rent a car, no idea about buying though
