How the hell do you guys n girls cope with a job where you deal with the general public on a daily basis?
There have been quite a few occasions recently where I have seen people in public facing roles having to deal with the most rude, obnoxious, ignorant, arrogant, ill informed and downright nasty people.
We went out yesterday and my own farther-in-law was very rude to the staff in a restaurant to such an extent I stopped him in his tracks, he was making the whole family cringe with his behaviour... he is just downright nasty with just about everyone...
I have never been customer facing in any role in my long working career... If I had, it would not have lasted long as I would have punched someone on day 2!

My dad does this, he walked into Costa and shouted COFFEE PLEASE and got the right arse when questioned what type. Maybe the next time when I go to look at a car with him, I'll just shout in the face of the salesman CAR PLEASE, DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?!Edited by Janesy B on Monday 4th April 13:07
Its just as bad on the phones when dealing with the general public, people seem to think that because they can't see the other person they can't be rude and abusive.
Thankfully companies are taking a strong stance against this and with ourselves it could end up with your policy cancelled and listed as an abusive caller with all correspondence in writing.

The few times i've been in customer facing roles, it hasnt been an issue, but i know of people who've had major abuse, including one young lady who quit her job because of an abusive arsewipe. He didnt do it for much longer, her fella got involved, and t

You soon learn to accept that people can be utter wkers at times. You get used to it.
Take comfort in the fact they probably live very sad lonely lives, have no friends and the only sex they get is with a latex fanny.
