Not sure if this has been covered before.

Assuming that its completely empty, what would be the fastest lap time possible around the M25 without refuelling in a road legal car?

AFAIK its 117 miles give or take, so flat out in a supercar for example would require refuelling I'm guessing....I'm guessing around 50 mins would be the record?

I remember a topic a while ago where people were remembering stories from the 80's where rich men would race their supercars from dartford tunnel to post the quickest "lap" time - I believe the average was about 160-170mph and ~50mins.

I seem to remember this being covered before, but made interesting reading.
Not sure I'd want to hit those expansion points going over the M4 anti- clockwise at those sort of speeds!

Or a variation on the original question
Could you lap the M25 in less than an hour?

Fair enough, but why must the car be road legal then? Can't I do it in an F1 car?
