The 'Not the Royal Wedding' Thread

I've had enough - blanket coverage of the rehersals, non-stop previews of the 'big day', every TV advert linked to royals and/or wedding, union jack bunting in Tesco and even Lidl has caught the bug. Where is a man to go to escape? I thought of cruising the M1 all day tomorrow, any other suggestions?

Does the BBC really think we are all obsessed with the two, chinless, turbo-rahs getting hitched?

Or, more likely, it's just calculated laziness?

A few presenters stood outside Westminster Abbey endlessly interviewing the flag waving, plastic-hatted losers camping on the pavement is easy and cheap TV after all.

I for one will be in the garage all day prepping my car Saturday's racing at Brands.

I keep seeing adverts for Comet or Currys - "upgrade your TV for the wedding" what a crap marketing ploy...

Well it is the British Beroadcasting Corp after all, it was always going to be like this, its probably going to be the most televised event of all time.

It puts Britain firmly on the map - I work for a large multi-national and EVERYONE I speak to around the globe is talking about it, mainly 'why the hell do you get a day off for that?!'

Collecting new sea kayak tonight, will spend tomorrow floating about with a few beers and a fishing rod. By royal approval I shall then make a bbq on the beach and cook fish.

They expect 2 billion people to tune in from what I heard.

I don't think some people know just how big the Royal Family is abroad. The wedding is almost like a quirky, real life soap opera for anyone to tune into just to satisfy their interest.
I've been asking friends in other countries about it, and their newspapers have had their front pages dedicated to it for days now.

Its a pretty big event.
