Wheels and Couriers?

Been looking at wheels on ebay and have contacted a few people most saying they will send them to Northern Ireland via a courier if I sort it out.

Anyone got any idea how much Id be looking at for a set of 4 wheels from say London to Belfast? Never really had to arrange postage/collection or anything like that before.

If you know the weight and approx size, you can use the quick quote on parcels2go to get an idea, I think I did it as 4 separate parcels (1 for each wheel!) and picked parcel force. It was £30-£40 but within England and some time ago now. And pay attention to any packaging/weight requirements. You have to get bar coded labels etc. to the sender one way or another for time of scheduled pick up.

Just been turned onto Paisley Freight by someone else aswell!

Used Paisley Freight for 4 17" wheels.

They got there, but the driver was a bit of an idiot and "couldn't find the address" the first day he tried to deliver. Got them the next day though.

Do you think the price would double or just go up somewhat if I added an extra 4 wheels?

Parcel2Go gives a quote of £15ish for 2 day service via HDNL. Senditnow would be £21 for the same service, up to £28 for next day by noon. That's assuming 2x packages of 2x wheels each (under 30kg per package).

I assume there's no extra cost for shipping to NI, but I don't really have a clue...

Home Delivery Network routinely throw packages over our fence whilst someone is at home - I assume it's quicker than ringing the bell but has convinced me to avoid them like the plague if I ever have a choice of courier. I haven't found any other courier so determined to avoid human contact.
