To have a benign mole removed locally, I seem to have the option of a several month wait for my GP to do it free, the local hospital immediately at £600 or one of the many "cosmetic surgery specialists" for under £100.
I am tempted by the last option, but am wary. Has anyone here used such a place before?

What is up with your GP????
At my GP it works like this.....say "this mole is Itchy". Two weeks later they cut it off in about 30 secs.
I live in an area populated mostly by coffin dodgers whose collective mass of moles and skin tags is the equivalent to the surface area of a small continent. At my GP it works like this.....say "this mole is Itchy". Two weeks later they cut it off in about 30 secs.
So there is a waiting list.
WTF? A 'several month wait' for a GP to do it?
I've had 3 removed, all in different regions (geographically, not on me) and every time it's been an appointment with the GP for the initial request and then an appointment with the nurse within a couple of weeks and done there and then.
I certainly would not be paying for it to be done privately unless it was in a very prominent place and could result in disfigurement if removed carelessly.
