I got a quote of £2k for LASIK wavefront treatment today.

Can anyone recommend LASIK? Also has anyone had a better price?

Check out that link, but for God's sake don't go on price; it's a surgical procedure on one of your most valued organs. I paid to see a private surgeon with superb post-op backup and care and don't regret it for a second.

I looked at the other thread on Laser eye treatment, people spending £1000`s!! and now this one.Am I missing something here? What about the NHS?? A few years ago I developed Glaucoma, one look from my local GP,then straight to the eye hospital and I had laser surgery the same day.A month later they did the other eye, just in-case.My eyes have been perfect ever since.Royal Berks Hospital Reading if your interested.

This is to correct myopia though I presume. That's not available on the NHS to the best of my knowledge.

Even for a simple painkiller injection into my back I was quoted £1750 private, so around £2k to £3k for laser eye surgery with all the follow ups is nothing. I expect that's what your Glaucoma op would have cost private.

I had LASIK Ultralas Elite treatment in April this year.
The quoted me £4750 - I got it for £2000 in the end.
I went in on easter saturday at very short notice for that price.

Incidentally, I had LASEK in 2007 for £2500 both eyes privately. That's with lots of follow-ups included.
