A mate of mine is doing this - anyone heard of it/tried it?
What does it involve?
It's pretty extreme. What does it involve?
Youtube some videos. It's a massive craze in America. The guy who does it is like 50 and is ripped!
I have downloaded all the videos and the workouts but haven't done them yet.
If you stick to it you can get some brill results within the 3 month plan...
Well worth a look.
Just do it without the weights. Don't use a lack of specific equipment as reason to not do it... unless you're looking for an excuse not to do it... sure, it won't build muscle but the cardio will help lose weight. (I have not seen the specific exercises but I doubt it is anything new compared to what has been done in the last 50 years of exercise/weight work.)
Or just go to your local BodyPump class.

I agree I need to get my butt in gear and do it. I've watched some videos etc and it looks mad. At the moment I'm doing a lot of bike work so haven't been doing anything in doors.Or just go to your local BodyPump class.
But it is defo on the cards to try.

In fairness to you, the weather is so good, I'd save the indoor work for the crap weather. But it is defo on the cards to try.
I have this plan and will be starting it in a week or so when my chin up bar is delivered. I am currently taking a week or two to familiarise myself with the workouts and I can say its certainly a good work out!
With P90X you will get alot of people slating it as it is advertised on the infomercial things which i think for alot of people make it lose credability but all the way though the workouts and the hand books etc they say how hard you have to work to see result and they stress how important following the diets is to overall success!

Yeah definitely. The diet is the most important part of it. No point in having a really hard workout and then going to pizza hut and stuffing yourself with 10 slices of pizza and think it's alright because you have had a good workout.
Yeah I need to order a chin up bar and some free weights and I'm going to give it a go. Save myself £30 a month on gym membership and do it from home.

I am doing P90 for the same reason, I want to save a bit of money working out at home (i am getting married next year so every little helps).Yeah I need to order a chin up bar and some free weights and I'm going to give it a go. Save myself £30 a month on gym membership and do it from home.
I bought the programme of Amazon for about £35, already had a few free weights and push up bars. I did the Plyometrics work out the other day after having a few months off with a broken wrist! Its amazing how you lose your fitness, I was sweating like a pig after 30 mins.................

yeah I no. When my friend first told me about p90x I tired the ab workout with him and I lasted about 15 mins out of the 40 minutes.
Well I hope things are going well for you, getting a bit trimmer for the wedding etc.
The more I think about it the more I wonder why I am paying so much at the gym when some days I cant make it due to work but with this it can be done anything at home. Just need to get my butt in gear and do it.
I watched a video on youtube a few months ago where a family done the 3 month challenge (a couple and there 13 yr old son) and the change to there bodies were amazing!!
If you get 5 mins it's definitely worth a watch.
As posted on the Insanity thread, I've seen the output of someone who has done the P90X and it certainly (and obviously) works. The real issue is one of commitment. If you stop after the 90 days (I was told it's a 90 day thing) and hit the pies, then there will only be one outcome...

Definitely. Then again if you stick at a good diet plan and an exercise plan for 90days and then give up afterwards all your work will come undone. Been looking in to free weights etc, this is something I will be attempting after the summer months.

A friend of mine tried this and showed me the book with all the exercises.
It seems like a gimmick to me with loads of isolations.
You are better off with a proper routine which is sustainable, based around the basic moves.
The muscle confusion is ment to be very effective. Plus I fancy trying something different and like I said earlier in the thread just want to save on gym fees aswel. It seems like a gimmick to me with loads of isolations.
