Eye Tests

Looking for a little advice as to who people recommend for eye tests? Vision Express type chains or the small individual places?

I have been wearing specs for 41 years now,
have tried the big chains as well as the small shops,
i felt i got better attention and service at the smaller shop
more personnel.
the bigger chain after sales service left a lot to be desired.

I would disagree - the bigger places have a big selection and will often do you a decent discount if you ask the right questions. Granted, it is a lot less personal, but I want to get the test done quickly and my glasses the same day - I don't really care about the conversation, nor do I want to be waiting while they send my glasses away.

My reason for asking was that I've been getting headaches are work and we get the old eye test vouchers. My father always swore by Boots, but I'm not so sure they give you the best service.

Vision express are excellent, and if you have any glaucoma or cataracts in your family the tests are annual and free.
