Best treadmill & Crosstrainer for £2k

Apologies if this has been asked before but search is currently not working.

After having 2 kids the Mrs wants to get back onto a treadmill, googling seems to throw up an array of options from stuff that seems too cheap to ridiculous prices for commercial grade stuff.

I don't want to spend more than £2k in total, so can anyone recommend a treadmill and cross trainer within that budget?

Are you looking for one machine or two? Not sure from your final sentence.

The only advice I can really come up with is "try before you buy". Our gym has two types of very similar-looking elliptical trainers from the same manufacturer. One of them I am absolutely fine with, and the other I really don't like, as it seems to have a weird little kick up at the end of the backstroke which I find uncomfortable.

Similarly, having a browse on Amazon, this one gets sterling reviews, with the exception of a 1 * and a 3 *, both those commented that they had issues with the step length being too short.

The cross trainer on that link looks really cheap. I had been looking at a Nordic Track E12 for around £700 from Costco

We've got equipment from Horizon Fitness which we've been very happy with. Check out fitness-superstore.co.uk, who've been very good to deal with. They also have a large showroom where you can go and look at/try stuff.

I assume she want a treadmill/crosstrainer as she doesn't want to run alone? In my experience, people buy these things, they get used for a couple of months, then less and less frequently, until they just gather dust.

£2k buys a lot of gym membership.

As redmax said, fitness-superstore is very good with a showroom so you can try before you buy.

I bought my wife a treadmill to lose the baby weight, it was a proform and we had it for five years.
One tip, make sure you get good trainers like Nike air, it makes a big difference.

That's fair enough, we have two young squirts too, and I don't have time in the evenings myself, hence I have a day gym membership.

My mrs binned the David Lloyd membership as limited time to go.
She bought a Life Fitness T5.0 from Fitness Superstore.
Very good piece of kit which is used around 5 times per week. She is fussy when it comes to treadmills and this one has proved to be pretty good.

They're good.
We bought a Tunturi C6 from them 8 years ago and it's still being used 4-5 times a week.
