"Proactiv solution" - Acne, any experience?

Just wondering if any of you guys have yourselves, or sons/daughters etc any experience of the acne treatment "proactiv"
I'm currently 18 and have been suffering mildly, with some very bad flare ups since about 13. Tried everything, the only thing that did work was some sort of antibiotic combined with a topical cream, that I had prescribed. But my GP took me off the antibiotic, because apparently it's possible your body can get used to it and become immune to it?!
But anyway, ordered some of this proactiv stuff and heard mixed reviews, I know everything is different for different people, but want to hear some comments from PH as I see you lot as honest (

If it doesn't work, it's time to finally go for roaccutane I think....
