I'm tempted to wear these, but I'm worried they'll put an undue strain on joints. I'm 36 and jog a few miles, several times a week.

What's the general consensus?

Thanks, folks!

I would imagine putting ankle weights on would throw your gait right out.

No idea but I wore ankle weights round the house for an hour or two. When I took them off, it felt like I was floating. biggrin

I wouldn't do it for running. You are already putting stress on your knees and ankles.

Hmm. Thank, chaps. It may be idea just to wear ankle weights around the house. I'm putting on too much weight working from home and not being up and about enough.

Has anyone tried jogging with a weight vest on?

If weight loss is your aim, have a good look at your diet. It is much easier to eat 500 kCals than it is to run them off. You burn most of your energy simply by existing.

Bad idea.

If you want to improve leg power run up hills.
