if you're in london ambulance service area, contact their patient involvement and public education department, as some area run these courses for parent groups

probably worth a try in other areas as well

something my wife is involved with for LAS

St John Ambulance 'Essential first aid (all ages)' is a good course for a general introduction to first aid and to cover infant and child topics as well in a three hour session

http://www.sja.org.uk/sja/training-courses/courses...

the SJA 'basic first aid' which is also a 3 hour session introduces some different topics

where 'activity first aid' which is a 16 hour course is a more comprehensive first aid course aimed at a 'general' - rather than work place -audience - although it doesn't cover baby and child resus

alternatively from 'workplace' focused set of courses the 2 day paeds FA course that is approved for childminders
