Male pattern baldness.

I had a very full head of hair not 4 years ago. It is now thin and there is a proper bald crown developing as well as a receding hairline. Not very flattering!

I’ve had a rather nasty health hiccup and a continuing course of medication (thyroxin) that means that hopes for my hair are rather remote.

So, assuming it gets bad enough and I get vain enough (chances are high ) to do something about it, what are the options out there?

Let’s say money no object, and you’ve got Wayne Rooney moolah (not saying I have!) what are the proper, non-hack, non-con options out there?

So it's Friday and I am bored, so I have turned to wondering: is there any hope for a miracle pill, i.e. a cure any time soon?

Productive suggestions as well as Friday afternoon banter both welcome.

I've recently taken this step, after following in my fathers genetic footsteps and loosing most of my hair before hitting 24

You can bet your bottom dollar that labs all over the world are frantically trying to find a reliable non-surgical baldness 'cure', for the simple reason that when they do, they could literally write their own cheque. Millions upon millions of men will pay for it without question.

It would make them more money than finding a cure for cancer.
