Just sitting heere at my desk... lunch a distant memory... I peer into my drawer and spy some jelly babies.

Probably scoffed about five of the little blighters over 3 or 4 minutes.

Then, the full length of my left arm (and hand) was suddenly beset with really sharp, painful 'pins and needles'. Took 30 secs to a minute to subside.

You didn't shift in your seat? Or reach for something?

I've occasionally been sat awkwardly or reached for something and got what you're describing. I'd wager on it being more pinched nerve than heart.

But I'm not a doctor and I know nothing ok? Good.

Yeah but your username has 'Kardio' in it, which sounds a bit like 'murdergorydeathbysomething' so you're probably a bit like a doctor. Or you know a doctor. Well, maybe you've seen one. On TV.

So, as a medical professional, could a sugar rush induce a heart attack? What about if I was diabetic but didn't know? Or would something else happen? And jelly babies; they're evil, right?

Anyone see when his last post was? Is he dead yet?

I think the crucial thing is are you now fine? I'm guessing from the replies, that you are.

If it happens again, talk to a proper dr and not one of us. Be prepared to be asked how old are you, do you smoke and do you take regular exercise?

Sorry! I really can't answer that question. I've given my opinion that has nothing to do with the fact I am a medical student.

So V8mate are you still there? Or are we going to have to employ the services of a medium to contact you?

Nothing medium about me, chap wink

I think the pseudo-doctor was right. Just a nerve 'twitch' thing.

Jelly babies are still evil though.
