Hi
I have a
Tennis elbow on one arm.
Caused by lifting weights.

Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of?
Should i stop the weights or stretch and continue?
I think it was biceps curls that caused the problem.

If anyone has any advice etc i would appreciate hearing,

Thanks

hehe

Seriously though, tennis elbow is tendonitis, or similar. The cure is rest.

I had tendonitus before on the tendons on the inside of the elbow - not part of the elbow - more the tendons to the bicep, i was told to stretch and do light excercices.
I was told that it would nit get better unless strengthened - hence light excercise and build up.
A few months later the tendons were fine and i was back in thgym lifting

I wondered if it was the same for tennis elbow?

Seeing as tennis elbow is just a common name for tendonitis of the elbow then yes, it's the same! Any exercise you do should be light and cause no discomfort otherwise you'll be going backwards!

I have a bit of this in my right elbow from picking up an air gun repeatedly in work. The rotational twisting hammering force is what brought it on shocking through my forearm into my elbow. Been probably 3 months or more and it is still there but it is getting better.

Swimming and grip excercise seems to be helping. Hammering is out of the question when it is bad which severely impedes fabrication and pretty much any usefulness and i find it impossible to hold out anything in front of me with my hand facing downwards when it was playing up.

Wore a tight bandage for a while for support - not sure it did anything but it felt nice.

lateral epicondylitis
Isn't that just a speicific area in which the tendonopathy occurs? I.e. tennis elbow is a tendonopathy of the tendon that originates from the lateral epicondyle; so treatment would be the same?

The symptoms and clinical history matching 'Tennis Elbow' correlate to lateral epicondylitis at the elbow.

We can't do medicine over the internet here smile

I think the answer to your question is a YES, though.
