Around 4 years ago I was very fit. I trained and was fit for 3-4years prior to that. Since then I have stopped being fit and got fat. I know why, eating too much and too little activity. I dont think >20-30pints of Guinness helped, per week.
Now, I have stopped drinking the past 3 weeks and drink lots of water, eat 'clean', high protien, eat regularly etc. I try to get 8hrs sleep, not always possible but I am doing my best. I sit at a desk most of the day too.
My plan is to follow 5 x 5 workout routine for 12 weeks. Started Monday.
http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-st... - PDF file there is very useful for anyone I am sure. I have little problem with the motivation for the weights. But decided to do some rowing at the end of each workout, just because I want to. Used to do it at the beginning as well (did it on Monday before I read the routine properly) and finding it VERY VERY VERY difficult to get the energy (to do the physical exercise, not to go to the gym).
Does anyone recommend Jack3d or something pre-workout? Or should I just man the f up and accept I am horribly unfit and get on with it and watch it get easier? Is it worth getting blood tests to check if there is a 'reason' for my issue.
I will keep it up. Mind over matter. May even join the other threads that are here.
Thanks in advance for responses.
edit: perhaps a better title would of got more responses?!
