Do any of the balding treatments actually work?
Discussion
Many of the treatments will slow down the rate of loss but if you're already at Phil Mitchell stage then you may be too late.
I know people who have had good results with propecia and to a certain extent Minoxidil (regaine).
However after a certain stage only a transplant will be of any help and they are not guaranteed to work. And a good one will cost you £10k+.

As others have said Regain or Minoxdil works.
There are several well accredited surveys which have confirmed the ability of Minoxidil to reduce hair loss and restore hair growth. But it only works as long as you use it. Stop and the loss returns.
In reality this is generally male hereditary hair loss. If all your antecedents lost their hair early you are likely to lose your hair early too.
Minoxidil does work. The decision is your to make.

He's just been on afternoon tv http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13706... yes he's has hair, but I'd rather be bald & spend the money on something else!

True, with a face like Rooney's I always thought having a hair transplant would be a bit like trying to polish a turd
I think it's dependant on what type of balding you have as to the results i.e. topicals such as Regane are siad to work better on the crown area than the front. My mate has had excellent results with Regane, but you'll also need to take a DHT blocker such as propecia or a generic clone of that drug.
It's totally up to you, you can get treatment where they transpalnt folicles from the back and sides of your head to the top. If/when my time comes I'll give it a go but otherwise shave it all off and save on shampoo.....

i use Minoxidil and have had huge gains off it on my receeding hairline. i dont use regaine/rogaine, but get kirkland Minoxidil shipped from the states, kirland is like our tescos own brand stuff and is significantly cheaper.
i started with a receedinig hairline around age 15 but at a very slow rate. by 17 it was getting progressivly worse. then over a very bad winter it got really bad in which i resembled alan shearer with a receeding hairline and left a little island on my forehead. i hated myself.
i started using minoxidil as a last hope before taking to the skin head route on 29 April i remember being it was when another baldy got married which was forced upon the nation. since then the "island" has filled in completely and small hairs creeping forward and almost hidden the hairline completely. too which friends/family couldnt believe this "magic potion".
i would give it ago for 3 months, if it doesnt work then youve lost a small pittance.
i get mines from here.
