Discussion
I'm staying with my parents at the moment. Last night my mother came home with blood covering the white of her eye one one side.
She's worried (I can tell), but doesn't seem interested going to the docs. It's got worse today spreading to both sides of her eye.
I've told her to book into the doc's, but she says she's busy. My father isn't well and his mother is in hospital, so I'd rather avoid upping the stress levels if I don't need to.
Any thoughts please.

Google "subconjunctival haemorrhage".
It's not usually a serious condition.
You're very kind to post this. It's not usually a serious condition.
I googled it and coughing is a cause. She's had a bad cold and had been coughing for the last few days.
I just wanted to know it wasn't another thing to add to the 'crap week' list, mind at rest cheers

Whilst I wish your mother well I do not think ignoring this is a good idea.
There could well be an underlying condition such as high blood pressure or diabetes causing the bleed and therefore presenting evidence to be examined.
I would get your Mother to her Doctor. It will take five minutes at the surgery.
Left untreated such conditions are serious. Heed what colud be a warning.
How would not knowing help?

Steffan I agree - she's booked in the doctor on Monday, the feedback here means I can tell her not to worry but to get it checked out.
She was worried and both parents have a lot "more important" things going on at the moment so it's useful to say just get to the doc's.
MBU cheers as well x
