I'm having the snip mid afternoon on Tuesday and was wondering what personal experience people have had on recovery time?

I've bookd Wed / Thur off work but need to go back on Friday for an 8:30am meeting.

I should have asked the Doc but stupidly didn't think at the time.

Any real world experience would be appreciated

Decided against getting the snip myself.
Apparently 1 in 100 snips result in permanent pain in the ball bag.
If you are worried about getting a girl preggers, get married, then all sex ends smile no need for snip! biggrin

I heard that too, but unfortunately had an 'accident' therefore snip is the only way.

As the marriage bit.......still happens occasionally......normally after wine!

I know 3 people who had the snip and it didn't work. Can it somehow "reconnect"?? My GP also mentioned what I consider to be the unacceptable high chance of long term pain....good luck :-)

I had a friend who was a hod carrier who was carrying bricks up a ladder later the same day! For myself, I was a wuss & for medical reasons had it done under general anaethetic, but was still back behind my desk the next day (oh the bravery!)

Yup, I was one of the hundred, 6 weeks off work and at least 3 or 4 months to recover properly plus a vericose vein just where you don't want it. frown

Had mine on a Friday back to work on the Monday. Get a jock strap and some swabs to keep your nuts supported!

A day or two to recover should be fine - just a bit sensitive for a few days longer. Wear close-fitting briefs or similar, not loose boxers. Too much "jiggling" can be uncomfortable.

Good luck.

I had a couple of days off, but, to be honest, could have been back at work within a day or so.. Close fitting pants are a must, you don't want to be swinging around, that stings!

I've never recovered..and that was 16 years ago. The pain lingers in my subconscious. I thought I'd gotten over it until you posted this!!!!

Apart from the nurse commenting on my "shaving style" all was fine with me. Back at work the next day but took it easy for a week. The only thing even now (9 years later) is that I need to "release" most days otherwise it becomes uncomfortable. (Well thats what I tell the OH)

Good Luck

No messing around with Condoms
No forgetting to take the pill
No withdrawing and "jizzing" over her back (unless you want of course)

Sex wise it was the best thing I have ever done - apart from the time when..........nah forget it.

I had mine done on a Friday afternoon, so only took an hour off work. Back on the monday with a little soreness but otherwise fine.

Supportive underwear is a very good idea and ibuprofen to reduce the swelling helps.

They can reconnect after 10 years i was told so will need the occasional check but no pain and no difference (colour etc) to the 'outcome' if you get my drift!

When we asked how long it would be before we could have sex again, the doctor said at least wait until you get home!

ETA on A Friday, not Friday just gone

Well, had it done last night - in and out within an hour and not really painful, It's just when they stick the needle in your scrotum it hurts a bit.

However it is possibly one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had, having a fit nurse and a surgeon playing with you balls whilst making small talk......not the best.

I think it's your mind working overtime on what they are doing rather than the pain itself.

This morning doesn't feel too bad, a bit swollen but plenty of ibuprofen is doing the job and the Mrs is waiting on my hand, foot and finger. Bonza!
