Donated blood, but there was a "false reaction"

Are there any blood experts that know what causes a false reaction in the blood services screening tests? I have donated blood a grand total of twice, and both times there was a false reaction which now means i can't donate again for 2 years. They said i was in no immediate danger of death but im just curious as to what might be in my blood that sets it off.
