Cross sections of the upper legs of a a triathlete in his 40s, a sedentary man in his 70s and a triathlete in his 70s.

I'm not sure about training but I could murder a ham (carved from the bone) sandwich now!

It is a tad obvious, though.

I also wonder if you really need to train to that level (tri-athlete) or could do something like walk everyday and be careful with your food intake?

No offence but I don't think people with little willpower to stick it out training would look at this and change their ways.

^ No. I think a news story about two 70yo's running from a rape-crazed canabalist. The Triathlete got away, the sedentary guy got it good and hard.

Either that or the image fails to point out that the triathlete is now bedbound because his AC is fooked and the sedentary guy can still manage to walk to the shops...

wink

It is a good image though!

If you take up Tri at 40 after decades of drinking and sitting around on your arse (like 80% of the tri-mid-life-crisis-athletes) will you still get all that grotty black stuff in your pins?

. . .and Will there any damage to your crotch from sitting so long on a bike and wearing leggings/bib shorts/tri suits?

Well, from the pictures, it looks like they've all lost their upper bodies in a Hannibal Lecter fashion. And clearly, everyone is hungry so I'm starting to feel uncomfortable in your company.
