Question re second set of MMR vaccinations.
Discussion
Guys,
With some trepidation, we decided to give our daughter the MMR vaccines. She is now 3 years old, and all is well. Her second set is now due which, I am led to believe, is just a second dose of the same drugs just in case she has not developed immunity to M+M+R from the first lot.
Despite recent developments, we still have a little concern about the potential side effects of the vaccines. That said, is there some way of establishing whether or not she has developed the immunity, thus potentially avoiding what is, at best, a traumatic experience for her.
Thanks in advance for your help.

God do people still worry about this? That fraudulent crank has a lot to answer for, still it seems.
I'd be more worried about the increase in diseases like measles and the impact it can have on children. Get it done for god's sake. Both ours had them.
And are only mildly autistic, so far...

There aren't any real side effects to speak of (not that touch on what a kid who gets even mild mumps has to suffer through), the link with autism was one massive lie from beginning to end... and having met a 'rubella baby' who is totally deaf and blind with massive brain damage and heart problems, well, let's just say that it very firmly brought home the consequences of not vaccinating.
If you would like to do some reading about the web of lies that led to the 'MMR scare', I can heartily recommend Bad Science by Ben Goldacre. Made it all really clear for this non-statistician (on many things, not just about MMR).
