Or one ball to be precise. Cut a long story short I had a dull pain in my ball. Thought I found a lump. Went to docs. Doc said lump was not on ball but rather in tubes so probably infection, Antibiotics course, lump remained after course, another appointment booked, more anitbiotics and booked in for an ultra sound, had ultrasound and they couldn't see anything, dull pain remains and lump is still there. Whats my next step....More anitbiotics?
Go back to your GP and ask him to investigate further and maybe refer you to a urologist. If the lump isn't actually on the testicle, chances are it isn't testicular cancer. I had a lump investigated that turned out to be an epididymal cyst, but that was clearly visible on ultrasound. It could be something like epididymitis which can be caused by an infection but can be caused by other things (maybe why antibiotics aren't doing anything).

I read somewhere it especially affects the left testicle because of the pressure from the heart.

Symptoms are the same. Can't get to a gp for a week and a half (north sea) so will have to grin and bare it for now.

I had not had anything to do with the NHS in my life ahead of this back pain.
My GP was really pleasant and able to dole out medication, but until I was proactive in stating what I wanted to happen, then doling out medication is all that would have happened.
This is not intended as an anti NHS statement, merely that GPs are exactly that: generalist practitioners; as such they are an entry point into more specific care - and need to act as such.
So the more informed you are as to options and possibilities (without becoming a Woody Allen hypochondriac, hopefully) then the more useful the conversation can be.
