Cannot stop farting
Discussion
Fekin' embarrassing and a good job I'm separated as the kids just think it's funny although my eldest daughter is not pleased.
This started in November and got worse so I saw the Doc who went for IBS and he suggested the FODMAP diet which cuts out lactose, fructose and gluten plus no beer or wine (As if my life isn't miserable enough already)
I gave it a try and it helped a lot but then I had to work abroad in December and was dreading it as it would have been a nightmare trying to stick to such an extreme regime when the only food available was via on site catering.
Well I ate well and was absolutely fine. I also had beers in the evening and stuffed myself with biscuits between the meals with plenty of tea and coffee.
I am the correct weight for my height btw
I came back for Christmas and was able to join in with the feasting and drinking no problem and all seemed well.
2 weeks ago it has come back with a vengance and it really stinks, literally. The bloody house smells and I dare not go out for social occasions and luckily I am light on the work front.
Everyday is the same. Wake up to a stinking bedroom (I'm quite a catch at the mo') have either cornflakes or all bran with soya milk plus a coffee with a dash of real milk. No problems after brekky and feel fine but after lunch it all starts, within minutes.
It does not matter if I have a healthy lunch, even a FODMAP one or a cafe lunch.
I sit here now and can feel my stomach inflating before each noxious emission.
This will continue through to dinner and right up to bedtime.
A search just puts you through to US sites where everyone has the same problem but no one has had any luck with easing it.
Just seems strange that it all went away over Christmas with no change in diet or in what I normally drink.
Anyone else care to admit that they suffer with this and what they have done about it.
Cheers. PPPRRRAAAAAAAPPPPPP!!!! there I go again.

It might be worth investigating the possibility of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) as a possible cause as it is often linked with IBS. One thing that can help this condition is probiotics - so something like Yakult or similar might be worth trying (I think you can also get probiotic pills/tablets if Yakult type drinks don't appeal or fit with the diet)
Good luck with getting it sorted.
